What this policy covers

This policy applies to the meriena website. meriena is the brand name of MERIENA DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY CO., LTD.

This policy covers the website only. Apps fall outside it: each ships with its own privacy policy.

The rest of the rules for using this site are in the Terms of Use.

What the site does not currently do

No form here currently submits anywhere. The pages here load no resources from any other domain.

The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Beyond that it currently carries no tracking code, no third-party advertising, no analytics, and sets no cookies.

Cookies and similar technologies

The site remembers in your browser whether you chose the light or dark version of the page.

That setting stays on your device and is not sent to any server.

We currently keep nothing else in your browser; what the host sets is outside this.

Server access logs

Like every web host, Cloudflare's servers keep default access logs, generated, retained and deleted by Cloudflare under its own policy.

We do not currently consult those logs, and we do not pass them to anyone, except as otherwise provided by law, or where a judicial or competent authority so requires under law.

Who we are

MERIENA DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY CO., LTD., which uses the brand name meriena.

Purpose of the collection

To read your message and reply to it. If you write asking to be told when an app launches, it is also used to send that notice. That notice goes out when the app launches, you can reply at any time to stop it, and it costs you nothing. Beyond a notice you asked for, we send no marketing mail and no newsletter.

What we collect

Only what you put in the message: the email address you send from, whatever name you sign, and anything you choose to write.

How long we keep it, where it sits, who handles it

Period: for as long as the specified purpose subsists. Your message is kept in the mailbox until that purpose has ceased, and it is held nowhere else.
Territory: Taiwan, and the locations of the overseas servers that handle and store your message; delivery involves an international transfer.
Recipients and methods: we read and reply in an ordinary mailbox. Cloudflare Email Routing and the mailbox provider handle your message, and it is stored on servers outside Taiwan. Beyond those two, we do not provide, exchange or sell your message or the personal data in it to anyone, except as otherwise provided by law, or where a judicial or competent authority so requires under law.

What happens if you don't

Writing to us is entirely your choice. No part of this site currently needs personal data to work, and it can be read anonymously. Write without a return address and we simply cannot answer.

Your rights under the Personal Data Protection Act

Under Article 3 of Taiwan's Personal Data Protection Act you hold the following five rights over personal data you have given us. They shall not be waived in advance or limited by a specific agreement:

1. To make an inquiry of and to review your personal data
2. To request a copy of your personal data
3. To supplement or correct your personal data
4. To demand the cessation of the collection, processing or use of your personal data
5. To erase your personal data

The date of the most recent change is at the top of this page. Changes are published here and take effect on the day they are published.
